YS Strings will be part of the DUSS Vivaldi Project Baroque Workshop on February 10th

Vivaldi Project

There will be a STRINGS ONLY REHEARSAL this Saturday, February 10th, since we will be part of the DUSS Vivaldi Project Baroque Workshop.

We will have no rehearsal for Winds, Brass and Percussion, but You are welcome to observe the clinic.

As part of the HIP Festival (Historically Informed Performance), The Vivaldi Project will be working with our orchestra string students during our regularly scheduled rehearsal time on the Concerto Grosso Op.6. by George Frideric Handel.

The Baroque clinic is starting at 10:15. Students should arrive at 10:00 to warm up. The clinic will run most of the time, however if there is any extra time we will have a string sectional and rehearse some spots.

Vivaldi Project co-directors, Elizabeth Field and Stephanie Vial feel passionately abut the need to to make the study of early music more widely available to performers, and especially those who are not able, or who do not necessarily wish to work with period instruments.  As a violin and cello team Field and Vial have been working together for over a decade, inspiring players with the drama, passion, and exuberance of 17th and 18th-century musical expressions, from talented young Curtis students, Suzuki teachers and their pupils, to seasoned professional orchestral and freelance players.
