Welcome to the DUSS Youth Symphony 2023/24!
The repertoire for our concert on November 12 will include: Symphony No. 1 in Bb Major by William Boyce, The Gordian Knot Untied by Henry Purcell, Two Pieces from Henry V by William Walton, Novelette No. 1 by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and Capriol Suite by Peter Warlock. These parts are attached to this blog post in case you ever need another copy. We will have folders with music printed out for you on Saturday.
Each week, please bring: Your instrument, a pencil or two, your music folder. If you leave your folder (or anything else) in Bone, check the lost and found clear bin the following week.
Important: With Covid spread on the uptick, please do not come to rehearsal if you have Covid symptoms and/or tests positive. If someone in your household tests positive and the student tests negative and does not have symptoms, they are welcome to come to rehearsal with a mask on. Let Cheri Bowers know if you need to miss class due to an illness or important conflict. She will be updating the orchestra on what to prepare for the next rehearsal.
Please review our attendance policies HERE. Please note that if students miss too many rehearsals (not including illness absences) or are not prepared for a concert, they won’t be able to play in that performance, or will be moved to the back of the section so as to not disturb seating leading up to the concert.
Please bring your music to your lessons for individual assistance as needed throughout the year.
