Dear DUSS families,
We are excited to announce that our Fall Semester and our 50th Anniversary Year are just around the corner! This post has lots of announcements about registration, auditions, and orientation. Be sure to read all the way through!
Orientation:
Saturday, August 26th at 2 PM, Nelson Music Room in the East Duke Building. Please note the location! Meet old and new teachers; learn about ensembles and classes -- including Theory, Viola for Violinists, Master Classes; and hear about our 50th anniversary events!
Auditions:
Katharine Whitmore will begin sending out SignUp links for auditions this weekend. Only students who have registered will receive a link.
Auditions will take place Saturday August 26th and Sunday August 27th in the Music Building. Auditions are for new students, students wishing to move up a level, and students interested in being leaders in their orchestra (Intermediate String Orchestra, Concert String Orchestra, Youth Symphony). All students should talk to their private teacher about their appropriate level. Students remaining at their current level in their orchestras do not audition.
Please go here for descriptions and audition requirements for each ensemble.
