Welcome Youth Symphony!
We are so excited to see everyone tomorrow, Saturday, 9/10 @ 10:30 - 12:30 in Bone Hall for our first rehearsal!
Please arrive 5 minutes early to get unpacked and ready to tune. This year DUSS would like you to write your own names on your stand tags and folders. We will have markers available but feel free to bring anything you would like to personalize (colored markers, stickers, etc.). You can view the seating chart for the first rehearsal below.
Our repertoire this semester will be: Holst’s St. Paul’s Suite, Concertino I by Count Unico Wilhelmina von Wassenauer (incorrectly attributed to Carlo Ricciotti in the parts), and George Walker’s Lyric for Strings. We will have folders with music printed out for you on Saturday and there is no expectation to practice for this first rehearsal. We will have a good time working on sight reading and marking sections in our parts. Here are the parts in case you ever need another copy: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1tozmW-lI9SZeRQwhb6P_6QeFEJJp_vKN?usp=sharing
Please review the attendance policies. If you will be absent, please email Cheri Bowers at robandcheri@mac.com. (Please do not contact Professor Davidson or Ms. Shirts).
Important: If you or someone in your household Covid symptoms and/or tests positive, please do not come to rehearsal that Saturday. Simply email us and we will make sure to give you assignments so that you know what to work on during the week. If a student tests negative but is still ill (fever or vomiting in the last 48 hours, active cough, sore throat, doesn't feel well enough to play and participate, etc), please do not come to rehearsal and stay home to rest and recover.
We are so looking forward to tomorrow!
