Carlos Pino, Bass
Mr. Pino holds a degree in Composition and Arranging from El Bosque University inBogotá. His dedication to refining his craft led him to the United States, where he earned a Master of Music degree in Jazz Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston in 2017. He later pursued a second Master of Music degree in Classical Double Bass at the Mannes School of Music in New York, graduating in 2024. During his time at Mannes, he was awarded the prestigious Homer Mensch Award of Excellence, a full-tuition scholarship recognizing his exceptional talent. He has studied with a number of world-renowned musicians, including Dave Holland, Don Palma, Cecil McBee, and RaKalam Bob Moses.
Carlos Pino is a dedicated music educator with over two decades of teaching experience. He has served as a bass instructor at El Bosque University in Bogotá and has taught at several music academies in New York City. His teaching experience spans from pre-college students to advanced learners. Mr. Pino has unique blend of technical expertise in both classical and jazz traditions, coupled with his experience in composition and diverse musical genres.
