I am excited to see you for our first rehearsal on Saturday, September 10 in room 101 from 11:15-12:15pm! Please arrive 5 minutes early to get unpacked and ready to tune. Great job in the fall concert, Violin Choir 3! This group did great work this semester and has come a long way as an ensemble. I'm excited to start working on our February repertoire this Saturday, November 13. Dear Violin Choir 3, Our spring 2021 schedule is 3/13, 3/27, 4/17, 5/1 and 5/15 @12:40-1:40pm at the Baldwin Tent. We will record on the rehearsals scheduled for 5/1 and 5/15. If the weather is looking bad the evening before any of our in-person rehearsal dates, we will meet on Zoom at the same rehearsal time. Dear Violin Choir III Class, I was sad to not see you all for our last class of the fall semester due to weather, but I'm looking forward to our first class back on Saturday, January 13th.  Over the break, please look over Rondeau with the metronome, and listen to a couple versions of Arkansas Traveler on YouTube to familiarize yourself with the tune.  We will start more work on vibrato and shifting in the spring semester.  See you in a few weeks, and have a wonderful holiday season! Attached is some of the music we will be working on during the 2018 Spring Season.  The theme for all ensembles for the March 3/4 concert weekend is Baroque music.  Our Baroque piece will be Rondeau by the English composer Henry Purcell.  We will also be playing a fiddle tune called The Arkansas Traveler and doing some shifting exercises to prepare for more shifting in our future pieces.  I will have print outs of these pieces in group class, and you can print extra copies off here if you lose them. Saturday, November 11th is our 50th Anniversary Celebration concert!  The Violin Choir 3 group class will be playing: 1. Mozart Lacrimosa (with repeat) 2. Swallowtail Jig (with repeat) 3. Orange Blossom Special The concert starts at 4pm, but please note students need to arrive at 2:30pm to rehearse Orange Blossom Special with all of the violin and cello choirs.  We will also have our regular rehearsal in the Biddle Music Building, room 101 at 11:15am that day.
