DUSS Welcomes Clara Vázquez to Faculty

Clara Vázquez

We are very pleased to announce that Clara Vázquez has joined the Duke String School faculty as instructor of violin and chamber music. She also will be assisting Mr. Rempher in the Concert String Orchestra as artistic assistant of CSO.

Ms. Vázquez is a versatile musician with a strong passion for sharing and communicating with others, both as a performer and teacher.

In order to pursue her education in the United States, Clara has received several Spanish fellowships including Jonde BBVA, Caja Madrid and La Caixa. She is currently finishing her Doctor of Music degree in Violin with Kevork Mardirossian at Indiana University’s Jacob School of Music. She holds a Masters degree from the same institution and a Bachelor degree from Real Conservatorio de Música de Madrid in Spain.

She has taught violin private lessons extensively and worked as a violin teacher for organizations like MusAid, Habitat for Music, The Fairview Violin Project, and the Indiana University String Academy.
