We are thrilled to finally confirm that Duke is in the process of approving our in-person ensembles in the Biddle Building for this fall. We will be requiring that all students, parents, teachers and staff wear masks indoors and implementing social distancing guidelines with maximum room capacities for each space. (More details forthcoming.)
We are still working out specifics regarding maximum ensemble size for each room, ensemble start times, and the number of family members allowed in the building. For now, please keep a buffer in your schedule for ensemble start times, as they may differ from the past. We will do our best to keep them similar to pre-covid times.
Private lessons through DUSS will remain on Zoom for the time being. We will be re-evaluating this on a monthly basis, depending on where covid numbers are in our community. We are hoping for lessons to resume in person as soon as safely possible.
Auditions will be held virtually again this year, and you can see all the guidelines and deadlines on our website HERE. Deadline for video submission: Thursday, August 26, 2021 @11:59pm. Our orientation will take place on Saturday, August 28 @2pm on Zoom.
